Green Man/ Wild Woman Ceramic Course

Green Man/Wild Woman Ceramic Course – 2 day

Description

The Green man or Wild woman is traditionally believed to be the ancient guardian of the earth and forest, representing the cycle of new growth each spring.

In this 2 day workshop you will create your own Green man or Wild woman sculptural garden ornament using stoneware clay. The workshop is suitable for all abilities.

On day one you will learn how to hand build the face using the slab construction technique. We will consider facial proportions and how to form features in the soft clay. On day 2 we will add decorative elements of leaves, vines and foliage, before adding coloured slip to finish.

Once fully dried (up to 2 weeks later) the sculptures will be fired twice (once with a transparent glaze). They will be ready for collection after 3 weeks, or may be posted to you at an additional cost.

Trading Places is based within the beautiful surroundings of the Stanwick Lakes nature reserve, in the heart of Northamptonshire’s Nene Valley. All the courses take place in and around our purpose built green oak Training Barn. Course places can be booked for one or more people depending on availability.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
