Whether you are young or old, there is a unique appeal about listening to a good story, and stories we hear in childhood often stay with us all our lives. Stories offer an escape to other worlds and the chance to join in with adventures, to learn about new places and people. Telling a story can captivate an audience; it encourages children to use their imaginations and improves their listening skills.
During the Whitsun half-term holiday, from Thursday 30th May – Saturday 1st June, Stanwick Lakes is promoting storytelling by giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy three days of activities inspired by much loved stories. Indoors, inside the magical story tent, children will hear stories from classics like Peter Pan and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, to original mythical tales told by a variety of storytellers.
Each day has a different theme – 30th ‘Adventures Ahoy!’, 31st ‘Myth and Magic’, 1st ‘Fabulous Feasts’ – with associated activities to keep everyone happy. Build dens, become a superhero, make a delicious treat in our ‘Let’s Cook’ session, be creative in our Discovery Zone and much more. This three day festival promises to keep children enthralled whatever the weather.
