General Manager (catering and hospitality)

Salary £28,000 – £30,000, depending on experience

If you are looking for a role which combines flair and enterprise with social working hours for a better work/life balance, then this job could be for you. The new Café/Restaurant and Lounge in the stylish lakeside visitor centre is due to re-open in the autumn after a complete refurbishment, and with a new business model. As General Manager you will be in at the beginning, with responsibility for building the new team, launching the enhanced food and drink offer, and shaping the future of the site’s catering and hospitality business.

Delivering catering excellence will be your responsibility, from breakfast and brunch, through light lunches to special afternoon teas, and in the food provided for functions.

This is a rare opportunity to join a small environmental charity and social enterprise in a leadership role, based at one of the region’s busiest, most popular countryside sites.

The person we are seeking will have at least two years’ relevant experience and will relish the chance to work as part of a team in a beautiful, community-focussed environment.

Stanwick Lakes is a 750 acre nature reserve and countryside attraction, which is special for both wildlife and people, and has around 300,000 visits per year. It is managed by Rockingham Forest Trust.
