On Sunday 30th March Stanwick Lakes will be holding the first of its Fun Runs for the 2014 season. The site offers the perfect location for running due to the high quality, surfaced paths around the site along with beautiful scenery for runners to enjoy whilst pounding the paths.
The Fun Runs have been popular for many years but, to ensure that runners are getting a great experience, as well as value for money, Rockingham Forest Trust (who manages Stanwick Lakes) will now be organising the runs. There are three distances to choose from – 5km, 10km and Half Marathon. The course of each run will follow the gravel paths around the lakes and along the old route of the Nene Railway. As the site will be open as normal to other visitors we ask all runners to be courteous to allow everyone to use the paths.
