School Groups at Stanwick Lakes
Stanwick Lakes is a fantastic venue for school groups to visit. The Stanwick Lakes Rangers provide educational visits for schools, home educated groups and youth groups throughout the year. These visits tend to be most popular after the school Easter holiday, but more schools are choosing to come in the autumn and early spring as well.
The Rangers offer a variety of subjects suited to a range of age groups, linked to the school national curriculum:
- Sensory Explorers
- Freshwater Life
- Marvellous Minibeasts
- Environmental Change – Rivers
- Amazing Outdoor Art
- Shelter Building / Survival Skills
- Explore Stanwick Lakes’ Prehistoric Past
- Romans of the Nene Valley
The rangers are fairly adaptable so, if you are looking for a particular subject to be covered during your visit, please discuss this with them when arranging your trip.
Find out more about the booking process and the sessions available in the Education Booklet 2018.
There is limited parking for coaches, for which there is a charge of £30 per coach. (Please note that anything larger than an 18 seater is classed as a coach.) This is effectively an admission charge for use of the facilities, and it applies whether large groups are dropped off or the coach stays on site. Please contact the Rangers (01933 625522) in advance to book a coach parking space. This charge does not apply to groups that pay a per head charge as it is included in the price.
