We are pleased to have opened up the car park so that more people are able to visit, but we must remind everyone to continue to follow Government advice on social distancing, of 2 metres apart. Large social gatherings of more than one household are not permitted.
To keep people safe and reduce numbers, only the main car park is in use, not the overflow, and when this reaches capacity we will have to turn cars away up at the entrance. Please do not park on local roads. The car park opens at 7am and is locked at 5pm.
Only a small number of our staff are working, so our ability to respond to emails, social media, voicemails etc is limited. Thank you for your patience.
These are open and are situated behind the refreshment kiosk. We advise that only one person at a time should use each of the three toilet facilities. They are regularly cleaned.
All play equipment, including that on the assault course and adventure trail, remains closed, in line with Government policy.
There is a ranger presence on site. Please cooperate with any instructions they give.
The outdoor kiosk is open serving light, wrapped refreshments, ice-creams and hot and cold drinks.
This remains closed to the public.
This remains closed to discourage group gatherings. Barbecues are therefore not permitted on site.
It is possible to renew your membership, or take out a new one, at the log cabin by the car park. We are extending memberships by two months to cover the period of closure.
Cycle hire will be open from Tuesday 26th – Sunday 31st May, 10am – 4pm (it will not be possible to reserve bikes)
Disability scooters will also be available. Please call 07850 723592 to reserve.
All events are cancelled for the foreseeable future.
All work parties are cancelled for the time being, and we are unable to support our many individual volunteers in their various roles until further notice. We will keep in touch as the situation changes and very much look forward to your return.
Group or individual bookings for the visitor centre will not be able to go ahead, and those affected will be contacted.
All craft workshops, Rainbow Cafés, and other group sessions in the visitor centre are suspended. This includes the Health walks.
Otters Children’s holiday club
We are currently unable to run the club while social distancing remains in force.
Stanwick Lakes is a large nature reserve and we are not able to clean all the surfaces you may come into contact with (gates, bird hides etc). We therefore advise that you come prepared with some disinfectant wipes. We ask that you respect other users’ personal space whilst on site, especially when in areas that are busy with people. Please visit, have fun, enjoy the site and stay alert.
