Visitor Centre

Our fantastic new visitor centre is now open!

The building is of striking design both inside and out, with lots to see and do. It boasts very impressive green credentials, including rain water harvesting, a sedum roof, ground source heat pump from the lake, with solar roof panels and later in the year our own wind turbine. The centre is close to achieving carbon neutrality and aims to enhance, not detract from, its beautiful setting.

CAFÉ SOLAR

Café Solar has an outside terrace overlooking the lake, in addition to its indoor seating, and provides a wide range of drinks, snacks and delicious meals, using ingredients which are sourced locally where possible. The mezzanine is stylishly furnished and has spectacular views.

GIFT SHOP

Our shop stocks a wide range of products from books to birdseed, binoculars to ethically produced products, and a huge selection of children’s pocket money items. Perfect for that special present.

HIDEAWAY PLAY FOR CHILDREN

Children are not forgotten either! They can enjoy the fun of our brand new “Hideaway” indoor play area, where they can let their imaginations run wild on the aquatic themed play equipment whilst you relax in the adjoining café. ‘The Hideaway’ can also be booked for children’s birthday parties.

FUNCTION ROOM

The function room is available for corporate and private use including team away days, seminars, small weddings, christenings, retirement parties and lots more. We tailor your function to your needs. Call the Visitor Attraction Manager for more information.

EDUCATION WING

Phase two, our education wing, is close to completion and will be available for hire to schools, clubs, groups and other organisations for educational and vocational activities.

OUTDOOR THEATRE

Our outdoor amphitheatre, with a capacity of 200, is in a beautiful setting by the lake and provides opportunities for a variety of performance-based activities. Catering and bar facilities are available. Please contact us for more information.
