Site proposals

Following on from a comprehensive consultation process and some in-depth market research, the Trust has produced a masterplan for Stanwick Lakes, which details our proposals for developing the site.

The masterplan seeks to provide something of interest to everyone, whilst maintaining and enhancing the nature conservation interest, by zoning the site into areas for nature conservation, areas for quiet recreation, as well as a hub area for the more people-focused activities. Full details on the masterplan proposals can be seen within the attached documents.

Phase 1 of the site’s development is now complete, and Stanwick Lakes has been open to the public since January 2006.

The phase 2 development will run through until 2009, and will include the construction of an outdoor theatre, a facility for bicycle hire, and a full service visitor building with a café and shop.
