Stanwick Lakes is known for its abundance of wildlife, in particular its overwintering birds. The bird hide provides the ideal opportunity to watch them undisturbed in their natural setting. Species commonly seen here include Wigeon, Gadwall, Teal, Greylag Goose and Moorhen. If you’re lucky you may see Smew, Redshank or Little Egret. The bird feeding station also offers a quiet space where smaller birds such as Long-tailed Tit, Chaffinch, Greater Spotted Woodpecker and Greenfinch can be seen.
