Welcome to Stanwick Lakes,
where the adventure lasts all day!
Stanwick Lakes is a unique 750acre countryside attraction and nature reserve in the heart of Northamptonshire's beautiful Nene Valley, and is widely considered to be one of the region's most imaginative outdoor activity destinations. It offers the best of both worlds: extensive play areas to keep adventurous families entertained for hours, and for nature lovers, walkers and cyclists, acres of wide open spaces and paths, where blue skies are reflected in tranquil waters.
And if the weather is less than perfect? Head indoors to the visitor centre, with its host of facilities and activities.
Stanwick Lakes is managed as a social enterprise by environmental charity, Rockingham Forest Trust, in partnership with East Northamptonshire Council.

Roman Floor Mosaic returned to Stanwick Lakes
One of the beautiful Roman floor mosaics discovered at Stanwick Lakes during the archaeological excavations in the 1980s has been returned to Stanwick Lakes. Many people from the local community were involved in unearthing a truly wonderful array of treasures including Neolithic monumental mounds, a Saxon water mill and the Roman villa in which the mosaics were found. The excavations of Stanwick Lakes were a collaboration between archaeology teams from Northamptonshire County Council and English Heritage and took place prior to the start of sand and gravel quarrying. Thanks to funding from Northamptonshire County Council, the mosaic has been cleaned and conserved, and is now on permanent display at the Stanwick Lakes Visitor Centre. The mosaic can be viewed during opening hours (10am – 4pm Mon – Fri, 10am – 5pm Sat & Sun).
