Welcome to Stanwick Lakes,
where the adventure lasts all day!

Stanwick Lakes is a unique 750acre countryside attraction and nature reserve in the heart of Northamptonshire's beautiful Nene Valley, and is widely considered to be one of the region's most imaginative outdoor activity destinations. It offers the best of both worlds: extensive play areas to keep adventurous families entertained for hours, and for nature lovers, walkers and cyclists, acres of wide open spaces and paths, where blue skies are reflected in tranquil waters.

And if the weather is less than perfect? Head indoors to the visitor centre, with its host of facilities and activities.

Stanwick Lakes is managed as a social enterprise by environmental charity, Rockingham Forest Trust, in partnership with East Northamptonshire Council.

Take on our Olympic Challenge

The Rio Olympics may not start until 5th August but our Olympic Challenge has started and runs throughout the summer holidays until 4th September! Win a special Olympic medal by completing three or more of five activities including the walking/jogging/skipping the Stanwick Lakes mile, cycling around a lake and scrambling over the assault course. Buy your leaflet at reception or the kiosk for £2.50 (only one medal per leaflet).

Please be aware that we have discovered a toxic blue-green algae bloom in the lake by the visitor centre, which is quite common at this time of year within a lot of the lakes. Dogs and people are not allowed in the water to prevent disturbance to wildlife but please do not allow your dog to drink from the water’s edge. Bloom and scum forming blue-green algae can produce toxins. These toxins can kill wild animals, farm livestock and domestic pets. In humans, they can cause rashes after skin contact and illnesses if swallowed. Not all blue-green algae blooms and scums are toxic, but you can’t tell just by looking at them, so it’s best to assume they are. Please click here for more information.

The Visitor Centre is open every day of the school summer holidays from 10am – 6pm (although this will be weather dependent).

Please be aware that our car parking machine accepts cash only, no card payments.
